I know this is probably too late to do you much good this year, but I only just finished them. We are finishing out a series this week and our overarching them is "Change Your World" that is why the stations have a definite missions slant. I have put the text of the stations sheets here, and I will work on getting the complete outline (including leader instructions) into the worship outline section.
World Prayer
Choose one of the missionary profiles from the table. Find a place where you can sit comfortably and read through the profile. Once you have read the information imagine yourself in the place of the missionaries.
What are some of the things you would be excited about?
What are some of the things you would be worried about?
Spend some time praying for these missionaries and all of those who are taking the love of Christ around the world. As you pray ask God where He is calling you to go and serve.
Once you have finished praying place the missionary profile back on the table.
Baby Clothes:
Sometimes at Christmas we think in abstract terms about Jesus and his death. We know that God became a baby, but somehow we forget that He was a baby just like any other. Spend a moment and examine the baby clothes on the table. Imagine the King of kings and Lord of lords wearing something this small. Smell the clothes and the soft baby smell that they hold and imagine Jesus the Savior of the World becoming, not a picture in a painting, not a ceramic figure in a nativity scene, but a real live baby.
Think about how humbling that must have been. Jesus was willing to give up all that being God is in order to come and share his love with us. Jesus was willing to lower himself so that we could know him. He was willing to become less so that we could become more.
Find a Bible and read Philippians 2:5-11.
Isn’t it amazing that God was wiling to become a man? Isn’t it amazing that Jesus came humbly as a servant?
So what about you? Are you willing to humble yourself so that the world can come to know the love of God? Are you willing to stop chasing after your own self-advancement so that your friends can find Jesus? Spend some time praying and asking God to show you the areas in your life where you need to humble yourself so that He can work through you and change the world.
Make an ornament:
God is calling us to change the world. The Christmas season is a reminder that God cares about all of us. John 3:16 says, "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” The coming of Jesus reminds us that God has a global mission that all peoples would know and worship Him.
Using the material provided make a Christmas ornament as a reminder of that global mission of Christmas. Jesus calls us the light of the world. On one of the lights write or draw what you think it means to the world that Jesus has come. Finish off your ornament with ribbon and place it somewhere that you can see to remind you that you are to be a light to the world this Christmas season.
Your Carol
Take a pen and paper from this table and find some space to be alone. Spend a moment and write your own poem about Christmas. If you want, use the tune of a existing carol or any popular song and place your poem to music. Once you have complete your poem tape it on the paper above with the others so that we all can share in your worship.
Praise the Incarnate Deity
For me the most amazing thing about Christmas is that God himself became a person. God incarnate walking around among us is almost too much to understand. On the wall draw what God becoming flesh means to you. You can draw a traditional scene or whatever image your worship leads you to create.
